7075 Aluminum pipe/tube is an ultra-high-strength aerospace-grade alloy, renowned for its exceptional mechanical properties and lightweight characteristics. Composed primarily of zinc (5.6-6.1%), magnesium (2.1-2.5%), and copper (1.2-2.0%), this heat-treatable alloy in the T6 temper achieves a remarkable tensile strength of 83,000 psi (572 MPa) and yield strength of 73,000 psi (503 MPa), making it one of the strongest commercially available aluminum pipes.


Its strength-to-weight ratio surpasses many steels, while its excellent fatigue resistance and toughness make it ideal for aircraft components, military hardware, and high-performance automotive systems where structural integrity under extreme stress is critical. However, its corrosion resistance is lower than other aluminum alloys, often requiring protective anodizing or coatings for harsh environments.


The 7075 aluminum pipe is widely used in applications demanding precision machining and dynamic load-bearing capacity, such as drone frames, bicycle components, and hydraulic systems. While its weldability is poor (typically requiring specialized techniques like friction welding), it offers outstanding machinability and dimensional stability for CNC processes. The alloy's high cost compared to standard grades like 6061 is justified by its unparalleled performance in aerospace, defense, and motorsports, where failure is not an option. With its combination of lightweight durability and extreme strength, 7075 aluminum pipe remains the material of choice for the most demanding engineering challenges.
